She cares, but not about what you think. She's free.
She looks at your personality and your demeanor, not your clothes, and not even your finely polished manors. If you can't do the same for her, she moves on. There is no ego here to bother her. She doesn't spend time meditating on dis-empowering comparisons. She doesn't wonder if she's good enough for you or anyone else because she's free.
She won't pressure you to like what she likes. She's not a big fan of sports nor arts and crafts. But she feels very happy to help others and to participate in group efforts with small gestures. If someone doesn't join in her hobbies or even show up, it doesn't upset her. She doesn't seem to wonder what's wrong with her nor what's wrong with others because she's free.
She wont judge you for belching the first time you meet or for other unacceptable yet natural human things. She'll likely be entertained and be glad you can be yourself with her. If you can't do the same for her, it doesn't matter because she's free.
Most of us work hard to get close to the place in which my daughter dwells. Spiritual growth is about letting go, not people pleasing, not entertaining ego, not gaining more rules and personal laws and fleeting moments of happiness. Its about finding freedom and steady contentment (equanimity) in simply "being".
Never would I want to take her freedom away. Life provides its teachers, and my daughter is one of mine. Would you take a closer look at the people you're caring for? How do they teach you? How much more can you value them? <3

Spirituality is as a living entity, like a vine, which can either be stunted or be grown. But it cannot survive by
